Students travel to St. Louis for international English honor society convention

Reading, Pa. International English honor society Sigma Tau Delta awarded 做厙弝け students second place for their literary journal Zephyrus in the organizations Outstanding Literary Arts Journal contest.

 

做厙弝けs chapter of Sigma Tau Delta was presented with a $250 prize during their trip to St. Louis, Missouri, for the 2019 Sigma Tau Delta International Convention. They also presented a panel titled Monstrous Progeny: Creation and Control.

 

We were up against bigger schools with bigger budgets and we were up against tough competition this year, said faculty adviser Dr. Thomas Bierowski of the 做厙弝け English Department. The passion of the students was apparent through the submissions and the final product and Im glad that 做厙弝け is receiving national recognition for students creativity.

 

Zephyrus is a collection of original creative works from submissions received from students across campus. The Zephyrus editorial board encouraged their peers to submit creative pieces that conveyed the years theme, Utopia. Submissions ranged from short stories, poems, photographs, and to various art works, each being unique and fitting to the theme.

 

The 2017-2018 edition of the Zephyrus is the first edition of the journal to be recognized by the prestigious international society.
